Planning from the UK — Visa, Pricing & Practicalities

The British Ceylon Collection

Sri Lanka is one of the most rewarding long-haul destinations from the UK — direct and one-stop flights, a manageable time difference, English widely spoken, and a depth of heritage that speaks directly to the British traveller. Here is what you need to know to plan with confidence. We price the British Ceylon Collection in GBP, and Ajit personally answers every enquiry within 24 hours.

Visa & entry (ETA)

British passport holders need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to visit Sri Lanka for tourism — a straightforward online application secured before travel, valid for a short-stay double entry and extendable on the ground. Always apply through the official Sri Lankan government ETA portal, and ensure your passport has at least six months’ validity beyond your travel dates. We send every guest current, step-by-step guidance with their itinerary, but the visa itself must be obtained by the traveller directly — we will never ask for your passport details to submit it on your behalf.

Pricing in GBP & how it works

The British Ceylon Collection is quoted in pounds sterling, per person, so there are no exchange-rate surprises. Our journeys are fully tailor-made and typically all-inclusive of accommodation, private driver-guide, transfers, entrance fees and the experiences in your itinerary; international flights are arranged separately so you keep your Avios and your preferred carrier. A 14-day British Ceylon fortnight starts from around £6,980 per person, scaling with the standard of accommodation you choose.

Flights, timing & peace of mind

From the UK, expect a direct overnight flight or a comfortable one-stop via the Gulf, around 11–14 hours in total. The classic window for the south, west and hill country is December to April; the east and Trincomalee shine from May to September. All bookings are operated on the ground by Ceymondu, our established Sri Lankan operating partner, who handle every logistic once you arrive — so you deal with one trusted person from first enquiry to homecoming.
